The InLocation Alliance 2016 Plenary

The InLocation 2016 Plenary was hosted by Broadcom in San Jose, California.  There were over 40 attendees representing 30 Member Organizations.  Members provided a dozen presentations illustrating new technology solutions. The 2016 ILA Road Map was developed in working group meetings and Member Organizations committed to co-locating with ILA at the European Navigation Conference and the Geo-IoT World Conference.

The Plenary Social event was a technology tour of Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49er’s and the venue for Super Bowl 50.  Member Organizations, Aruba Networks and Intel, provided a technology preview of their work featured at Levi’s Stadium, the world’s most technologically advanced stadium, prior to the ILA tour.

The 2016 Board of Directors was announced at the Plenary with Kirk Burroughs – Qualcomm as Board Chair, Jouni Kämäräinen – HERE as Vice-Chair, Jane Celusak – IEEE-ISTO as Treasurer and Secretariat and Directors Fabio Malabocchia – Telecom Italia, Rajiv Iyer – Cisco, Prasan Pai – Broadcom and Magnus Persson – Sony Mobile.

Future events are listed in Events including participation in conferences and the ILA hosted Indoor Positioning Summit in Helsinki on 30 May 2016 were the Use Case Survey White Paper, a joint effort of ILA, Open Geospatial Consortium and the European Commission i-Locate project, will be published.
