The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®), the Inlocation Alliance (ILA) and the i-locate Project invite you to contribute to a survey on use cases and benefits of indoor positioning.
While exhibiting at the ION GNSS+ 2015 Conference in Tampa, Florida the InLocation Alliance (ILA) today announced the publications of two new white papers from the group’s Use Case Working Group. These white papers provide insight to Retail Industry and Transportation Industry thought leaders of the opportunities afforded by indoor location based services and technical solutions being developed by the InLocation Alliance members.

The InLocation Alliance (ILA) today announced the winners of its Best Use Case Contest at its annual Plenary hosted by CSR in Cambridge, UK. The contest invited members to submit descriptions of successful deployments of Indoor Positioning technology and was judged by a Peer Review panel of members based on the benefits the solution offers stakeholders, the novelty of the solution and the solution’s compliance with the ILA System Architecture.
ILA members are actively pursuing a common architectural framework supporting the delivery of complex solutions featuring indoor location determination, mapping and navigation. The OGC provides a standards forum in which indoor location stakeholders are working together to develop open standard ways of communicating the indoor location information provided by those solutions.

The success of indoor LBS will only occur with the innovation and discovery of new applications of the technology
